The Best Lamb Burger
I know that I just posted a burger last week but while the grill is still hot, I thought that I’d share this recipe. Maybe you surprise a couple of friends with halloumi AND lamb burgers on one of these perfect late summer/early fall nights?
Straight and to the point, this is the best lamb burger. How do I know? Well, I googled “best lamb burger recipe” and The Best Lamb Burger Recipe from Tasting Table popped up. And then I made them and my family’s reponse? “These are the best lamb burgers!” Need I say more? Enjoy!
The Best Lamb Burger
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- lb ground lamb
- 2 small red onions one minced and the other sliced into rings
- 5 cloves garlic finely minced, divided
- 5 Tbls fresh mint finely chopped, divided
- 3 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 c mayonnaise
- 1 Tbls lemon juice
- 1 pinch paprika
- 1 Tbls fresh dill finely chopped
- 1 Tbls fresh parsley finely chopped
- 1 tsp cooking oil
- 4 burger buns
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the minced lamb with the grated onion, 3 minced garlic cloves, 4 tablespoons of chopped mint, ground coriander, and Dijon mustard.
- Form the mixture into 4 burger patties and then chill them in the fridge until they are ready to cook.
- In a clean bowl, mix together the mayonnaise with the lemon juice, the two remaining minced garlic cloves, a pinch of paprika, the remaining tablespoon of chopped mint, parsley, and dill. Refrigerate this sauce until ready to use.
- Preheat the grill on high, lightly oil the lamb patties, and then cook for about 4 minutes each side.
- Place the halved burger buns under the grill for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until they are lightly toasted.
- Spread a little of the mayonnaise sauce on the burger bun, top with a burger patty, a few slices of red onion, some more of the mayonnaise sauce, and the the top of the bun. Serve and enjoy.
